Steps to disinfect household surfaces to remove Coronavirus

By this point, coronavirus has taken it’s worst form in most of the countries. If we are conscious enough, we ought to protect ourselves from this pandemic.

As far as now we are aware of how to properly wash our hands like wet, lather, scrub, rinse, dry. But, are you aware of the proper steps to disinfect household surfaces to remove Coronavirus? Today, Canwinn Foundation will discuss the right way to sanitize the various surfaces in our home.

Here’s how to disinfect your iPhone

As collected information from the Apple company, you can use Clorox disinfectant wipes on your iPhone. Though, it wasn’t advice previously.

Don’t use aerosol spray.

Household Hygiene

Good household hygiene involves cleansing and sanitizing the same areas you use on regular days. Studies suggest paying attention to food preparation surfaces and other high-touch surfaces. These surfaces include light switches, faucets, remote controls, doorknobs, refrigerator doors, and microwave handles, and your computer keyboard. Don’t panic! Just use a smart cleaning process with targeted hygiene throughout the day and week.

What to use while sanitizing your home

Eliminate any visible dirt and grime before disinfecting, this will enhance the ability of disinfectants. After that, use tried-and-true disinfectants such as bleach (sodium hypochlorite), hydrogen peroxide (hydrogen peroxide expires six months after opening but can last up to three years unopened), grain alcohol (ethanol, found in beverages) and brushing (isopropyl) alcohol.

Note: Any over-the-counter disinfectant products are

If you purchase any over-the-counter products it is required to meet government specifications. To make sure if the product has met all government requirements for effectiveness, look for an EPA registration number on the label.

Besides, buy the product with an alcohol content of 60 percent or higher. After spraying the disinfectants, wait for 30 seconds to several minutes (check the label for timing) to effectively kill a germ or virus.

Usage of Bleach

It is one of the most inexpensive disinfecting agents. It comes with label instruction with which you can create a bleach/water solution. In addition, you can follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recommended recipe of a third-cup bleach per gallon of water or four teaspoons bleach per quart of water.

Note: Avoid mixing bleach and ammonia, as it creates a dangerous and potentially deadly chlorine gas.

Different Surface

  • If you are going to clean the hard and durable surfaces, consider using any disinfectant you have on hand. These hard surfaces that are chemically resistant include metals, granite or tiles.
  • To clean porous surfaces including marble, you should consult the surface manufacturers’ recommendations to avoid any damage.
  • Furthermore, for porous material, never use any acidic cleaners.
  • To disinfecting any surfaces that come into contact with food, use water washing after the disinfectant dries.
  • Because glasses are chemically inert, you can use any disinfectant and cleaner on them.

More things to keep in mind:

After receiving mail or boxes into your house, consider washing your hands carefully. Use a disinfectant on the outside of reusable shopping and grocery bags.
