There are several factors that can put you at risk when it comes to cancer. It could be your age, your exposure to carcinogens, your weight, and your genetics. It is normally rather hard to understand as to why someone may develop cancer and someone else may not. However, research has shown that there are some factors that can increase one’s chances of suffering from cancer. As far as these factors are concerned there are some that you are able to control and some which you are not able to. This includes things such as family history and age. If you have a history of people in your family suffering from certain kinds of cancer chances are that you may have inherited the same as well.
As has been said already, there are certain factors that you can control in order to reduce your chances of suffering from certain kinds of cancer. There are a few things that you need to keep in mind. It has been seen that most cancers are associated with aging. This means that the longer you live greater are the chances that lesions, which cause cancer, are accumulating in your cells. It is estimated that in 40 per cent of cases of new cancer it is possible to avoid the disease.
All you need to do in those cases is change the risk factors. Smoking happens to be the biggest reason behind cancer and it causes around 20 per cent of all new cases of cancer.
